Week 1: Designing Their Own Animal with Wings

    • Sketching session: Each child will draw their unique animal with wings.

Week 2: Painting or Glazing

  • Objective: Teach children basic painting and glazing techniques to bring their winged animals to life.
  • Activities:
    • Introduction to different types of paints and glazes.
    • Demonstration of basic painting techniques (e.g., blending colors, using brushes).
    • Painting session: Children paint their winged animals.
    • Glazing session (optional): Introduction to glazing for those using ceramics.
    • Drying and finishing: Allow time for the artworks to dry and apply any final touches.

Week 3: Designing a Book – Part 1

  • Objective: Teach children book design concepts and introduce the idea of polarity in storytelling.
  • Activities:
    • Introduction to book design: Discuss the structure of a book and the concept of creating a book that can be read from both sides.
    • Story development: Children brainstorm stories that have good and bad decisions leading to different outcomes.
    • Sketching session: Children sketch scenes for their books.
    • Layout planning: Begin planning the layout of the book, considering how it will be read from both sides.

Week 4: Designing a Book – Part 2

  • Objective: Continue developing the book with a focus on illustrating the stories and finalizing the design.
  • Activities:
    • Recap of the previous week: Review the book designs and stories.
    • Illustration session: Children continue drawing the illustrations for their stories.
    • Adding details: Focus on adding details, such as backgrounds and additional characters.
    • Book assembly: Start assembling the pages into a book format.
    • Sharing session: Children share their book progress and discuss the outcomes of their stories.

Week 5: Three-Dimensional Shading and Toning

  • Objective: Introduce the basics of shading and toning to create three-dimensional effects in art.
  • Activities:
    • Introduction to shading and toning: Explain the concept of light and shadow.
    • Demonstration: Show how to shade and tone to make a flat circle look like a three-dimensional ball.
    • Practice session: Children practice shading and toning techniques on simple shapes.
    • Creative exercise: Children apply these techniques to their previous drawings or create new shaded artworks.

Week 6: Fantastic Inventions from a Ball

  • Objective: Encourage creativity by transforming a shaded ball into a fantastic invention.
  • Activities:
    • Recap of shading techniques: Briefly review the shading and toning skills learned in the previous week.
    • Brainstorming session: Discuss various inventions and how a simple shape like a ball can be transformed.
    • Creative drawing session: Children draw their fantastic inventions starting from a shaded ball.
    • Sharing and discussion: Each child presents their invention and explains the idea behind it.
    • Final exhibition: Set up a mini-exhibition where all the artworks created over the course can be displayed for parents and peers to view.
